WARMINSTER— For a third year, Operation Ward 57 is hosting the Wounded Hero

5K, an event that benefits the organization’s Honor & Courage program. This initiative supports wounded service members, veterans and their families through financial assistance, comfort and morale events and more.

In addition to a USA Track & Field-certified 5K course, there is a mile walk honoring the memory of a local Marine, 1st Lt. Travis Manion. Fun activities for the whole family will be taking place in conjunction with the race, including face painting, balloon animals, moon bounce and food. A concert featuring Joe Bachmann & The Tailgaters kicks off following the race.

Ill and injured veterans serve as guest speakers at this inspirational event. If you cannot attend in person, you can still show your support as a virtual runner.

“The Wounded Hero 5K not only supports wounded veterans and their families through Operation Ward 57’s programs, it also allows us to recognize them for their service and sacrifice,” said Honor & Courage Director Heather Sliwinski. “It’s our way of bringing the community together to say ‘Thank you.”
