Holiday Tradition With A New Twist at Pearl S. Buck International

Mark your calendars to celebrate the holiday season at two festive events at the Pearl S. Buck International National Historic Site.

The 2015 Annual Festival of Trees, from November 10th through December 31st, marks the 37th year to celebrate the start of the holiday season with Pearl S. Buck International. We will launch our Giving Tuesday campaign, better known as Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Pearl S. Buck International has set a goal of raising $5000. to feed 30 impoverished Vietnamese children for a year!  Stay tuned on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep track of how you help us achieve the goal for these children in Vietnam. What better way to bring in the season of giving?

Then, on December 10th we invite the entire community for complimentary décor tours at our Community Open House from 6pm – 8pm, inviting all of our neighbors to experience the joy of the Buck estate with food, song from the Christopher Dock Acabellas and Acafellas, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Kick off holiday shopping during our annual Holiday Craft Show showcasing the region’s best artisans and crafters from Nov. 27 to Dec. 31.

Since 1978 we have maintained our tradition of inviting community artists, businesses, and nonprofits to adorn the historic Pearl Buck home with creative style and sparkle, while introducing something new and exciting.  This year, Pearl S. Buck House museum curator Marie Toner is pleased to announce that in addition to the complimentary tour of the farm house in full holiday regalia, “visitors can meet the amazing group of 31 decorators and 14 new business participants, including Ashley Kay Design (the 2014 Festival of Trees winner), Girl Scouts of Eastern PA, Habitat for Humanity of Buck County and The Peace Center.”

Trip Advisor’s Sandra G gave the Pearl Buck House a 5-star rating, calling the Festival decorations “whimsical, daring and quite pretty,” and noting that ”each room and even bathrooms had a separate theme.”
