Opal Kronkie, a middle-aged recluse, lives in general disarray in her tumbledown mansion at the edge of the municipal dump. Opal collects things-anything that can be toted home in her little red wagon. Opal is also an optimist, for no matter how mean her lot-or her "friends" she responds with unfailing kindness and an abiding
faith in the goodness of human nature. Into her rather strange world come Gloria, Bradford and Solomon, three purveyors of bogus perfume, on the lam from the authorities. Opal's home is the perfect hideout-and Opal, herself, might be the remedy for their shattered finances. They decide that what she needs is plenty of insurance, a rapid demise, and three beneficiaries named Gloria, Bradford and Solomon. Attempted murder wouldn't seem to be funny, but in Mr. Patrick's magic hands it is uproarious. The laughs ensue as the unsavory trio concoct elaborate schemes to ensure Opal's demise and includes a surprise at the end. $15

The drama centers on Rubin Flood, who loses his salesman job in the 1920's. While searching for a new job, he must deal with his wife, Cora, who shuns intimacy and mistakes his joblessness for stinginess, his shy daughter who prepares for her first dance and his pre-teen son who runs to his mother instead of dealing with bullies.
He tries to find comfort with a friend, Mavis Pruitt, thus setting off rumors of an torrid relationship. In addition are the themes of modernization (i.e., not enough demand for horse harness, and the impending arrival of the oil industry). This play opened December 5, 1957, at New York's Music Box Theatre and ran for a total of 468 performances. It won the Tony Award for Best Play and was made into a film in 1960. $15

White, has created a play that captures this work in a thrilling theatrical presentation. The story is filled with memorable characters and their relationships
the Arables, the Zuckermans, the farm animals and the townspeople. Charlotte's Web is the story of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a spider named Charlotte. The Dining Room is a humorous and compassionate play from the author of Sylvia, Later Life and The Cocktail Hour. Scripted as a series of overlapping vignettes, the play visits a host of characters as they go about their daily business. Each of the eighteen scenes, which range from the comic to the serious, explores the dynamic
relationships of family life. Rather than the scenery changing around the characters, this play is unique in that the characters change around the scenery. In one vignette, the dining room is the scene for an unexpected homecoming, when a returning college student realizes his mother has had an affair with his father's best friend. In the next, a beaming aunt displays her prized silverware for her nephew, who is conducting anthropological research on the "WASPS of Northeastern United States." In a seamless collection of such moments, the show presents a glimpses into the human condition: the joys, sorrows, love and sadness that accompany family life. $15
