The pilots at Van Sant Airfield in Erwinna (https://www.vansantairport.com), Ninety-Nines (www.ninety-nines.org), an international organization of women pilots who promote the advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support, are holding an event at Van San Airfield on Friday, August 9, 2024. Our target audience for the event is young women from the age of 14. The event is called Women's Aviation Day. This will be a free, fun, day-long introduction to aviation through various presentations and discussions with a panel of women from general aviation pilots to professionals working in commercial aviation, air traffic control, the military and maintenance. The day will Show More...be structured to encourage discussion and break down the barriers that might deter women from pursuing opportunities in the field - from pilot to the engineers and scientists that make all of aviation possible. Then the attendees will experience a 15-20 minute flight over Bucks County.
