The Bucks County Choral Society presents Music from Around the World: Four Continents, One Mass featuring the Keystone State Boychoir. See how the traditional Latin mass has grown and changed as it has traveled the globe. The choir will gather together a composite mass comprising a Kyrie from Norway, an Argentinian Gloria, a Congolese Sanctus, and an Australian setting of the Agnus Dei.Along with the Keystone State Boychoir under the direction of Joseph Fitzmartin and Steven Fisher, we will present a composite traditional Latin Mass, built from the seeds sown by the church in far corners of the world. We'll begin with the warm, spare Kyrie of young Baltic composer Ola Gjeilo, after which we'll travel to South America for the distinctly Argentine Gloria from Ariel Ramirez's Misa Criolla. The melody for our Sanctus, part of the Missa Luba, comes from the Congo, and the Agnus Dei, by Australian composer Stephen Leek, has clear references to Aboriginal rhythms and instruments. In place of the Credo we return to Eastern Europe for Henryk Gorecki's iconic Totus Tuus, written, fittingly, for a pilgrimage that Pope John Paul II made to his native Poland.   Everyone knows that fall is not complete without a festival to celebrate the changing of the leaves, the chill in the air and of course, Halloween! Here at Froehlich's Farm we are excited to host our Froehlich's Farm Fall Festival on Saturdays and Sundays beginning the last weekend in September and through the October weekends (10 am ? 4 pm). Enjoy a hayride around our 100-acre farm, get lost in our 3-acre corn maze, find the perfect pumpkin in our pick your own patch, choose your favorite pony for a ride, build your own scarecrow, win prizes, warm up with some hot cider and roast some s'mores. Plus, we offer pony rides, kid activities, food, live music and more. We even host special events, so plan a day, a school trip, or even a birthday party. There is something for everyone at our Fall Festival, so bring the kids, or just come be a kid for the day!   Give and Take Jugglers is a hit with both children and adults for over 40 years. Their highly interactive, comedic show uses traditions from vaudeville, circus arts, theater and music to create a lively and wholesome performance that's fresh and contemporary. Come to the Sellersville Theater on November 14th and enjoy the show!   The Dram Devotees of Bucks County present SPECTERS and SPIRITS! Join us for a haunted ghost tour and whiskey tasting! Please go to www.spectersandspirits.com for tickets and info. (Tickets cannot be purchased through Meetup after Sept. 10th) We will stop at 5 different supernatural sites, the first four of which will include its own terrifying tale and complimentary whiskey pairing! Our fifth and final stop will be at the most notoriously haunted house in New Hope, the Logan Inn! Here, after chilling you spine, we will attempt to soothe your unease with a Halloween craft cocktail! For those that are not yet aware, the streets of New Hope are notoriously haunted - quite possibly the most haunted town in America! The Logan Inn, especially, has been researched by many paranormal investigators. Located along the scenic Delaware River, New Hope has history dating back to before the Revolutionary war. The town's history and that of American whiskey in Pennsylvania parallel in many ways. Let?s discover where their stories cross. Each whiskey is thoughtfully paired with each of the five haunted sites on the tour. (Each pairing may involve what may have been historically accurate or what may have been available at the local tavern when each spirit lived and walked these very streets...) Perhaps the thirsty specters of New Hope will join us for a sip.
